This past week when I was shopping at Kroger, in the meat department, I saw this huge rack of ribs and instantly though this is what Fred Flintstone had that caused his car to flip over.
*If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out YouTube or the Boomerang Channel for the Hannah-Barbara cartoon “The Flintstones.”*
Anyways, I looked at my husband and relayed my thought about giant dino-ribs. He laughed but of course, didn’t say no.
I’ve never cooked them before, I was at a loss. Do I grill them? Smoke them? Eventually, because today was a sucky planning day, I decided to just throw them in my oven because I’m impatient and didn’t think ahead.
Ingredients I use:
- Beef Back Ribs
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- favorite rub
- salt and pepper to taste
- bbq sauce (optional)
Here is what I did:
- Pre-heat oven to 350* F
- Lined cookie sheet with aluminum foil
- Seasoned both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder and one of my favorite dry rubs Sweet Rub O’ Mine
- Cook for 45 minutes
- Coated one half of the ribs in bbq; I usually make my own but tonight I used Sweet Baby Rays
- Cook another 15 minutes
It was pretty quick and easy; the ribs turned out juicy and tender, full of flavor.
I served this with Pictsweet Roasted Red Potatoes and Onion. I do not recommend these, mine turned out very bland after throwing extra seasoning on them; they also seemed watery and mushy, even at the high oven temperature indicated on the bag.
