After I spent all day cleaning the house, picking up the yard, doing dishes, and other typical “homemaker” things, I decided Brian and I would pop some popcorn and watch a movie.

We turned to Vudu, where I found another FREE movie (with ads) called Hunted.

The synopsis:

“Rufus is a shy and lonely boy determined to make a new start. Sure he has some quirks. So what if he likes the taste of blood? It’s not like he’s addicted. When a cunning vampire hunter slips into town searching for the fountain of youth, Rufus fears his darkest secret is about to be revealed.”

Hunted is directed by Dave Schultz and stars Rory Saper, Tom Carey, David James Elliott, and Kelly Rowan; the movie is said to be an action sci-fi/fantasy.

I felt the movie was way longer than it probably should have been (running time 110 minutes), with Rufus’ secret being revealed in small increments, but I will say that the director did a great job building the tension throughout the plot. I thought the drama with the neighbor girl was a bit unneeded and generic.

Hunted gives you a great look into the life of a vampire, from his side… although I thought Rufus was more beast than vampire. I felt so sorry for the kid; not having a “past” but recalling everything like it was yesterday, being on the run, tortured at the hands of doctors in the name of science, not meaning to be bad, and on.

The movie also touches slightly on homosexuality, child loss, consent, and a few other mature topics.

Its definitely worth the watch if you can see it for free. I rated the movie three stars.
