Back in August I seen a video about these toothpaste tablets, I like looking for ways to make my family more environmental friendly and I thought these would be perfect for us. There’s no plastic, the jars are reusable, everything s recyclable.
I guess I should mention how horrible my teeth are before continuing about this toothpaste.
They’ve been like this for as long as I can remember and the shitty part is, I brush my teeth daily. My boyfriend never brushes his teeth and his are healthier than mine. You don’t even know how angry that makes me.
I have gingivitis, for anyone who doesn’t know what that that is, it’s gum disease. Every toothpaste I have tried that targets gingivitis has made my mouth swell up, my mouth hates me that much.
I went looking around online and saw this thing called “gum pulling,” claims to help with gingivitis. For it, you take coconut oil and chew it/swish it around in your mouth for about 30 seconds then brush your teeth. I honestly didn’t noticing anything with my gums but I did notice that it helped whiten my teeth. Which is great because I’m a big coffee drinker. So when I found out about Bite Toothpaste Bits, I seen on their website they also have charcoal toothpaste bits. Charcoal is also supposed to help whiten your teeth. For only $12, I couldn’t wait to get my first bottle.
I wanted so bad to like this toothpaste. I couldn’t wait to get through my bottle so I could order more. But I don’t think I will. I love the idea of the toothpaste bits and I wish everyone would try them. I’m a bit of a texture person, I just couldn’t get over the weird feeling of chewing the tablets. I started to wet the toothpaste before placing it in my mouth and even squish it a bit to see if that would help. If you have ever had to chew a pill that’s what it felt like for me and I couldn’t get over that feeling.
The charcoal also didn’t help whiten my teeth, after using it for a couple weeks I noticed the coffee stains staying on my teeth which then made me want to brush them again right after.
Like I said, I really wanted to like this toothpaste but it just wasn’t for me.
