When I buy ground beef, I always buy 3 or more pounds.
I use some for Pasta or burgers and am usually left with about a pound. I sometimes use this extra pound for tacos.
Seeing as how I don’t usually plan on making tacos until last minute, I NEVER have taco seasoning. I do, however, have a well stocked pantry.
It’s super easy to make on your own!
- 1 TBSP chili powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Mix everything together in a small bowl; store in an air tight container
I enjoy garlic/onion, so I add a bit more. You can substitute the crushed red pepper flakes for a smaller amount of cayenne pepper.
When adding to ground beef, add 1/3 cup of water.
