I don’t like meatballs very much, I don’t like touching them… but I found this recipe during a Google search, tweeked it and it was amazing.

The original recipe was found on sbs.com.au

Here is my take on it.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 3/4 grated parmesan/Romano cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) tomato sauce
  • salt & pepper to taste

  1. In a medium/large size bowl, combine the meats
  2. Add the bread crumbs and cheese
  3. Add eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic
  4. Combine all ingredients with your hands *Adjust the consistency by adding more breadcrumb if too moist or another egg if too dry
  5. Add a couple of tablespoons of tomato sauce and kneading all together
  6. Roll mixture into small balls
  7. Place remaining sauce in a wide pan and bring to simmer over low heat
  8. Add polpette and cook over low heat, covered, for 30 minutes or until just cooked through

Serve with your favorite pasta for a complete meal. =]
